CONNECTICUT JUVENILE JUSTICE ALLIANCE HIRES NEW EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

    

In accordance with our recently completed strategic plan, the Connecticut Juvenile Justice Alliance is pleased to announce the hiring of Fernando J. Muñiz to serve as the organization's first Executive Director.

Fernando will officially join the Alliance on February 17, 2004. He said, "I'm very excited about joining the Alliance. The work we are doing to provide a safe, effective and equitable continuum of care for young people is very near to my heart and I look forward to working with our members to implement the goals of the new strategic plan."

Fernando has over 10 years of experience in youth development, training and not-for-profit management at the local and national levels. Most recently, he served for three years as Deputy Director of ASPIRA of Connecticut, where he managed the agency's internal operations and leadership development programs. Prior to ASPIRA, Fernando was Associate Director of Communities in Action in Stamford and Youth Director of RYASAP from 1994 to 1999. He holds a bachelor of arts in psychology from Fairfield University and a master of public administration from New York University.
